Golf Skittles
ABOUT
Golf skittles is a hybrid style game using the general rules of skittles as the basis for play. The beauty of this game is you can practice your putting and create competitive gameplay at the same time. Plus, the amount of equipment you will need is fairly minimal – you can even use household objects.
HOW TO PLAY
Create an ‘alley’ by marking out a section of the floor or ground which is roughly 20ft x 5ft, then position your ‘skittles’ in the formation shown.
Each turn starts with all the skittles standing and consists of three putts down the alley. The ball must be rolled by putting the length of the alley and not chipped. If the first or second throw is a ‘sticker’ ie where no skittles are left standing, they are all reset to their original position. The maximum score in one turn is twenty seven.
You can mix this game up with traditional golf balls and clubs, but bear in mind the lighter or heavier the ball, you will have to adjust the weight of your skittles accordingly. For Golfway Play balls, empty food cans or plastic bottles tend to work best.
